Tunga Bridge, Thirthahalli
Tunga Bridge is a unique bridge constructed across river Tunga in Thirthahalli.
The 100 year old Tunga Bridge was built by Bharat Ratna Sir M Visvesvaraya. The bridge connects Tirthahalli and Kuruvalli. At present Kuruvalli has become an extension of Thirthahalli.
The Tunga Bridge is unique and it resembles the harbour bridge at Sydney but with a slight difference.
The Tunga Bridge draws many visitors especially on weekends to see the uniqueness of the Bridge. The Tunga bridge has arc-like structure on the top supported by consecutive pillars on either side of the bridge. There are beam-like structures on the top, connecting the two arcs, appearing as roof.
