Tarikere
Tarikere is a town and taluk headquarters in Chikmagalur district and located at a distance of 59 Km from Chikmagalur town.
The name, Tarikere has been derived its name from number of water tanks by which the town is surrounded namely, Chikkere (Small Tank), Doddakere (Big Tank), Dalavikere, Ramanayakankere, Kenddarahalla. Kere means Water Tank in Kannada language.
The Tarikere town has situated 698 meters above sea level.

The Amruteshvara temple is one of the masterpieces of Hoysala architecture.
Kemmangundi, a popular hill station of Karnataka is just 33 Km away from Tarikere on Chikmagalur Road.
