Someshwara

Someshwara is a small town located on the foothills of Western Ghats in Karkala Taluk, Udupi district. Someshwara is located at a distance of 46 Km from Udupi on Udupi - Agumbe Road (State Highway 65). Someshwara is also junction of roads that lead to Kundapur, Shimoga and Udupi.
Located very close to the picturesque Agumbe Ghats, Someshwara also boosts its beauty by the flow of river Sita.

Someshwara Wildlife Sanctuary

The main attraction of this town is Someshwara Wildlife Sanctuary. It was declared a wildlife sanctuary on 5th June 1974. The area of this sanctuary is about 88.4 sq. km. Someshwara Wildlife Sanctuary is rich in Flora and Fauna. The best time to visit this sanctuary is between October and April.

The other places of visit include the temple dedicated to Lord Somanatha and Maha Ganapathi in the town.

Sringeri: Sringeri is one of the popular pilgrim centers of Karnataka and it houses a Temple dedicated to Goddess Sharadamba on the banks of river Tunga. The temple was established by Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya.
