Puttur Mahalingeshwara Temple

Puttur houses a famous temple, dedicated to Lord Mahalingeshwara an incarnation of Lord Shiva. This is an ancient temple of said to be constructed in 12th Century. A unique pond is found on the western side of the temple premises. It is believed that in olden days, Pearls were found to be growing in the Pond.

A Car festival will be held in the month of April every year and it will be celebrated for 10 days with great devotion. This car festival attracts thousands of people from different parts of the state.
