Narasimha Parvatha
Narasimha Parvatha, also known as the Agumbe peak, is portion of the popular "Agumbe - Sringeri" trekking path.
Narasimha Parvatha is situated 826 meters above sea level, Narasimha Parvatha is the tallest peak (roughly 3780 feet) in Agumbe Ghats. The vision from this peak is spectacular. You can see the numerous soft hues of the beautiful sky during sunset. The sunrise is also charming. The striking Kudremukh ranges are also noticeable from the top of hill.
You can also observe the paddy fields of Mallandoor village, a tower of a relay station in Agumbe from the top of Narasimha Parvatha. You can find a huge valley between Narasimha Parvata and Mallandoor. The Shola forests are found on mountain peaks. Grasslands covering the peaks with the slopes are covered with thick forests.
Narasimha Parvatha is also a perfect location for Trekking in Chikmagalur. You need to have a Walking stick, Hiking shoes, Woolen clothes, Water, Juices, Snacks, Electric Torch, Medical kit, a good compass and an additional pair of clothes to trek at Narasimha Parvatha. It usually takes 4 to 5 hours to reach the peak from Kigga.
Since Narasimha Parvata is also a portion of Kudremukh National Park, you will need to get prior permission and as well pay an entry fee. You will be not permitted to camp inside the national park. It is recommended, that you enquire with officials of the forest department in Kigga before starting this trek.

Road: Kigga is well connected by road network except hill ghats at some section. It takes around half an hour to reach Kigga by Bus from Srigneri. Local buses regularly ply on this route. There are two ways from Kigga. One goes towards Sirimane waterfalls and another to Narasimha Parvata.
