Nandavara
Nandavara is a settlement situated on the banks of river Nethravathi in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district. Nandavara is located at a distance of 31 Km from Mangalore. Nandavara was one the capital of Nanda dynasty.
Nandavara was established on the banks of river Nethravathi by Nanda rulers. They established their kingdom here, built the forts and palaces and named this place as Nandapura. They ruled this place for many centuries. Later in course of time Nandapura became Nandavara.
