Mudigere is one of the towns and taluk headquarters of Chikmagalur district.
Mudigere is located at a distance of 33 Km from Chikmagalur town. The town is situated 915 meters above sea level. This town is located on Mangalore - Kadur state highway 234.

This little town is surrounded by the coffee plantations. Mudigere is a beautiful place with the natural diversity coming under the 8 hotspots of the world. The amazing nature beauty this place attracts Kannada film directors to shoot the Kannada movies in Mudigere.

Poorna Chandra Tejaswi, the well known Kannada writer had settled in this town till his death here in 2007.
