Koodalasangama
Koodalasangama is an important religious center for people of the Lingayat faith. Koodalasangama is also known as Kappadi Sangama. Koodalasangama is at the confluence of the Krishna River and the Malaprabha River in very enchanting surroundings. It is located about 15 km from the Almatti dam site in Bagalkot district.
Koodalasangama is associated with the great 12th century poet and reformer Basavanna. The Aikya Mantapa or the holy Samadhi of Basavanna, the founder of the Lingayat faith along with a self-born Linga is found here.
The history of Koodalasangama dates back to 800 years. Basavana Bagewadi, a well-known pilgrimage centre, is the birthplace of Saint Basaveshwara.
