Kolli Sri Durgadevi Temple
Koli Sri Durgadevi temple is one of the oldest temples of Belthangady taluk in Dakshina Kannada district. The temple is located on the banks of River Nethravathi at a distance of 0.5 km from Kajoor Hayath-ul-Auliya Dargah Sharief.
The Temple is very old and are no proper references and records claiming the date of establishment of Kolli Sri Durgadevi temple. But people here believe this temple was constructed 800 years ago.
As per the legend, it is believed that local ruler Narasimha Banga son of Vishnuvardhana Banga, reached this place after defeating the enemies. He felt that some divine power is residing at this place and installed Durgadevi here.
Lord Ganapathi is another deity worshipped here.
The annual festival is celebrated every year on Ugadi festival with great devotion. The Kolli Sri Durgadevi Temple attracts many devotes from the surrounding places to witness the event. Special rituals are held on Navarathri and Deepavali festival.
