Kaup
Kaup also called as Kapu is a small and beautiful town and an ideal tourist destination located at a distance of 12 Km south from Udupi in Coastal Karnataka.
The main attraction of Kaup is beach which has a Light house. The Light House at Kaup is constructed in 1901 and 27.12 m above the base. The Light House at Kaup is open for public between 4 PM and 6 PM and the panoramic view offered is superb.
Kaup Beach is one of the popular beaches of Coastal Karnataka where many tourists and students of this place enjoy the beauty of the nature, the long stretches of golden beaches and the cool sea breeze. The best time to visit Kaup beach is either during sunrise or sunset.
Kaup also has three temples dedicated to Goddess Mariamma and an old fort in ruin condition.
