The image of Goddess Mahishamardini is unique and it is in a standing position. The statue of Goddess has four arms. Goddess Mahishamardini is holding the Prayaga Chakra (the discus) in her upper right hand and the Shanka in her upper left hand. She is piercing the head of Mahishaasura, a demon, with her Trishul held in her lower right hand. She is pulling the tail of Mahishaasura with her lower left hand.
