Balehonnur

Balehonnur is a picturesque town located on the bank of Bhadra River in Chikmagalur district of Karnataka state. Balehonnur is dominated by coffee estates, arecanut, paddy fields, pepper, vanilla and other spices. The main crop in this and surrounding areas is Coffee.

Balehonnur is located 45 km to the north-west of the Chikmagalur town. Shrimad Jagadguru Rambhapuri Veerasimhasana Mahasamstana Peeta or Rambhapuri Mutt, belonging to veerashiva pantha is located in Balehonnur. The Veerabadra temple attached to the mutt has strong metallic images of Veerabhadra and Bhadrakali.

Road: The Balehonnur town is main junctions for routes to Chikmagalur, Kudremukh, Sringeri - Koppa and Shimoga. Balehonnur is connected to state highway.

Balehonnur Bus stand is located in the Balehonnur town center and the station is operated by Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC.) It runs buses to Jayapur, Kalasa, Aldur, Chikmagalur, Magundi and nearby places.
